Columbia Animal Services to Host Free Microchipping Event

What: Columbia Animal Services is excited to host a free microchipping event for local pet owners. This event is open to all residents of City of Columbia and Richland County and aims to provide valuable service that enhance pet safety and reunification efforts. Pet owners can bring their dogs and cats to receive a free microchip, which will be registered with up-to-date contact information. This event will also include educational efforts and information about other services offered at Columbia Animal Services.

Microchipping is a proven, effective method for reuniting lost pets with their owners, but the cost can be a barrier for some. By offering this service for free, Columbia Animal Services can help remove financial obstacles, ensuring more pets are protected. The last microchipping event hosted by Columbia Animal services was extremely successful where nearly 100 animals were microchip.  

When: Sunday, September 22, 2024 from 1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.
