The Office of Neighborhood Safety and Engagement Partners with USC Upward Bound Program to Host the Senior Class of 2025 Celebration

Who: City of Columbia Office of Neighborhood Safety and Engagement and USC Upward Bound Program

What: In honor of Richland County School District One 2025 USC Upward Bound Graduates

Upward Bound is one of four TRIO Programs sponsored by the University of South Carolina and funded by the U.S. Department of Education. UB provides low-income, first-generation students with academic services and resources needed to successfully enroll and succeed in a post-secondary institution.

Join us in honoring USC Upward Bound Richland One graduates. This milestone event will recognize 17 Richland One graduates, all of whom have been accepted into the college of their choice. Their success is a true testament to their dedication, resilience, and commitment to higher education. Various vendors throughout the City of Columbia will be onsite to offer the graduates summer internship opportunities, volunteer/employment opportunities for adults, and additional resources for their parents.

The event will be:

  • A celebration of various achievements related to graduating schools (Eau Claire, Columbia High, W.J. Keenan, and Lower Richland High School)
  • Business Professionals
  • Family & Community Oriented

We will highlight:

–        How much scholarship money the students have received

–        How many schools they’ve been accepted to

–        Graduates time with the program

There will be:

–        A keynote speaker

–        Awards

–        Brunch

When: Saturday, May 17, 2025 at 9:00 a.m.
