The City of Columbia Public Works to Continue Cleanup Efforts to our Residents

By August 7, 2024No Comments

The City of Columbia Forestry and Beautification Department and Solid Waste Department continue to focus on cleanup efforts in the Melrose Heights, Heathwood and other areas due to Saturday’s storm as well as responding to calls related to Tropical Storm Debby.  These cleanup efforts include opening roads from fallen trees, debris removal and inspecting the areas for hazards such as hanging limbs.

There are multiple contractors that may also be working in these areas for tree related issues on private property.  These contractors are required by city ordinance to remove all debris from their work. For the remainder of the week, we are asking citizens to assist our city and neighborhoods by not placing any additional yard trash out for collection.

The City of Columbia Public Works Department is continuing to provide regular services to residents of Columbia during the inclement weather this week due to Tropical Storm Debby. This includes the regular collection of garbage, recycling and yard trash collections.
