COLUMBIA, S.C. – Columbia Mayor Daniel Rickenmann and Instacart will announce the Grocery Access Pilot (GAP) program, an initiative focused on combating food insecurity in the City of Columbia’s food deserts by increasing access to online grocery delivery.
The pilot program will serve more than 100 Columbia households positioned more than one mile from a full-service grocery store in a defined food desert. The Mayor will be joined by Instacart’s Vice President of Policy and Government Affairs, Casey Aden-Wansbury, to introduce the partnership and the program.
