The City of Columbia is still feeling the impact of Hurricane Helene with debris collection. Solid Waste crews, alongside crews from other City departments, are working six days per week to collect this inundation of debris. The City appreciates our residents’ continued patience as the cleanup is completed.
To aide in curbside collection, please make sure yard debris and bulk items are separated. Clean yard debris is taken to the City’s compost facility, which is turned into a viable resource.
The Solid Waste Division is also providing temporary drop off sites for yard debris only. There are large, blue roll off dumpsters located at the following City parks:
- Hyatt Park, 905 Jackson Ave.
- Woodland Park, 6500 Olde Knight Pkwy.
- Heathwood Park, 801 Albion Rd.
- Rosewood Park, 901 S. Holly St.
Daily progress updates for collection efforts will be posted by 5 p.m. in the Division’s mobile app and website. Residents can visit https://publicworks.columbiasc.gov/waste-wizard/ or download the free Columbia, SC Solid Waste mobile application available in the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.
