Grand Re-Opening and Ribbon Cutting for Papa Jazz Record Shoppe

Who: Mayor Daniel Rickenmann, Mayor Pro Tem Will Brennan, Columbia Economic Development, Five Points Association and owner of Papa Jazz Record Shoppe, Tim Smith.

What: The City of Columbia celebrates the grand re-opening of Papa Jazz Record Shoppe that has been located in the Five Points District since 1982 under the same owner. Papa Jazz offers a wide selection of records across all music genres, providing a vibrant marketplace for buying, selling, and trading vinyl records and CDs.

Years ago, there were about seven record stores within a mile of each other, and according to Smith, he’s the only one that remains today. When the internet emerged, while many saw it as a threat, he embraced it, making the web his ally instead of his enemy.

Their hours are Monday-Saturday from 10:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. and Sunday from 12:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
