The grand opening for Game Day Nutrition was held today on Monday, March 7, 2022, at 730 Santee Avenue at 11:00 a.m. Game Day Nutrition is a veteran and family-owned smoothie & juice bar that offers healthy meal replacement protein shakes and clean energy teas.
Mayor Daniel Rickenmann and City Council members, along with representatives from the Five Points Business Association and Columbia Economic Development were in attendance to welcome Co-Owner Amanda Murray and her staff to Five Points.
“It’s great to see another business opening here in Five Points,” says Mayor Rickenmann. “Game Day Nutrition picked one of the fastest growing areas of our city to open their second location and we are honored to have them. Community members from USC and the surrounding neighborhoods should be delighted to have a great option to add more healthy choices to their lifestyles.”
Murray discovered these products just two years ago and subsequently lost 111 pounds while following a healthy shake, tea and meal plan. She fell so in love with the product and her success, that she, along with her brother Shawn Rhives, opened their first location in Charleston. Rhives is a disabled army veteran who helped build the Charleston and Columbia locations. Both owners have a strong desire to help benefit the community by providing these healthy products.
“Choosing to open our second shop in Five Points was a no brainer,” says Murray. “We have several alumni who visit our Charleston location, and we saw the need and desire for another clean, healthy and fun environment in Five Points. We are beyond excited to become a strong presence in this community that has already made us feel like family!”
