The Municipal Election Commission of the City of Columbia announces that the filing period for the vacant District 4 Councilmember is now open. The filing period will remain open until Noon on Monday, January 23, 2023.
Interested citizens for the office must file a statement of intention of candidacy with the City Clerk at City Hall, 1737 Main St. No statements of intention of candidacy will be accepted after the deadline at Noon on Monday, January 23, 2023. The filing fee for the office of the council is $530.00.
The District 4 Council representative is required to serve for the remainder of the unexpired term ending on December 31, 2025.
