WHAT: The City of Columbia and One Columbia are hosting a series of events showcasing the City’s new parklets. These events are to encourage citizens to explore the new public spaces and engage with local artists.
The project is possible due to a generous grant from the Knight Foundation.
WHEN: On Saturday, April 16 from 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m., Columbia’s Poet Laureate Ed Madden will be creating custom poetry on typewriters for passersby.
On Friday, April 29 from 10:30 a.m. – Noon and Thursday, May 5 from 6:00 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. Storyteller Darion McCloud and associates will be engaging the public with performances.
WHERE: The parklet located on the corner of Main Street and Hampton Street
