WHAT: This year will officially usher in a new beginning for neighborhoods in the Olympia section of Columbia as construction will be getting underway to bring a new fire station to the area.
Members of the Columbia-Richland Fire Department will join city leaders and developers to break ground on the long-awaited project on Wednesday, February 4, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. The ceremony to usher in construction on the new fire station will take place on the development site near the western end of Hamrick Street in Columbia.
