 Columbia Art Center To Host One Day Workshops

Parks and Recreation will be hosting two one-day workshops at the Columbia Art Center.

Paper Lanterns Workshop

Instruction by Karen Kustafik

 Participants in this workshop will learn how to build their own paper lanterns using paper, tree limbs, dowels, and glue. Once they are completed, they will march with lanterns in the Winter Solstice Parade on December 21, 2022. Registration deadline is November 30. Class size is limited to a minimum of 3 to a maximum of 15 and will occur on the following dates:

Wednesday, December 7: 6 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.

Wednesday, December 14: 6 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.

Saturday, December 10: 10 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.

Cost: $10 per person

Fees include instruction, all supplies & materials, and operating costs.

 

Face Jugs Workshop (Adult Class)

Instruction by Michael Byrd

Participants in this workshop will learn about the history of face jugs and step-by-step instructions on how to model and attach facial features to their jugs. Leather-hard clay jugs and tools will be provided. The class will be held Saturday, November 12 at 10 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. The registration deadline is November 5. Class size is limited to a minimum of 3 and a maximum of 8.

Cost: $45

Fees include instruction, operating costs, and some materials.
