The City of Columbia is advising all motorists to stay off the roads unless it is absolutely necessary to travel or commute. There are trees down and powerlines which is causing hazards on the roads.
For those who must travel or commute, please be cautious and be on the lookout for trees down in the roadways, as well as powerlines. Please do not proceed through these areas, but turn around and find an alternate route. Also, please do not attempt to move any trees, debris or powerlines.
Please be advised that there are several traffic lights that are not working, due to power outages. Any traffic light that is not working should be treated as a four-way stop for traffic purposes.
