City Officials to Provide Update on Finlay Park Incident and Public Safety Measures

Who: City Manager Teresa Wilson, Police Chief W.H. “Skip” Holbrook and City of Columbia Parks and Recreation Leadership 

What: City officials will provide an update regarding the incident that occurred during the City’s Juneteenth Celebration at Finlay Park. Officials will address the facts of the incident, public safety measures, the City’s response, and ongoing efforts to ensure City events remain safe, family-friendly, and enjoyable for all attendees.

Officials will also provide additional information regarding the City’s proposed permanent Unaccompanied Minors Policy for Finlay Park and answer questions from members of the media.

City officials will also discuss resources, programs, and activities throughout the City of Columbia available for youth and parents.
