In observance of the Christmas Holiday, the City of Columbia’s buildings and offices will be closed on Thursday, December 25, 2025 and Friday, December 26, 2025.
Solid Waste will be adjusting collection schedules for the Christmas holiday. Garbage, recycling and yard trash scheduled for Thursday will be serviced on Friday, December 26, 2025, and garbage, recycling and yard trash scheduled for Friday, will be serviced on Saturday, December 27, 2025.
Parking Services once again is excited to support our local businesses & community by offering complimentary parking over the Christmas Holiday!
On-street meter operations
- Wednesday December 24 – enforcement until 6:00pm as usual
- FREE CITYWIDE – Wednesday, Dec 24 (After 6:00pm) – Friday, Dec 26
- Normal Meter operations resume Saturday, Dec. 27 at 9:00am in the Five Points and Bull Street Districts.
All city parking deck facilities
Wednesday, December 24 – normal operations until 5:00pm

- Wednesday, 12/24, at 5:00pm gates will be raised (Lincoln, Park, Lady, Sumter). So FREE *DECK PARKING Christmas Eve Night (12/24) through the day after Christmas (12/26).
- The gates will be lowered for normal operations at 2am on Saturday December 27th.
