Jump On Board (JOB) Job’s Program is a 6 week initiative for individuals experiencing homelessness to improve their work readiness through individualized plans centered on digital literacy, soft skills, plus intensive services through focused case management. In this first iteration the facilitator, Laklyn Malovic, Career Coordinator from Transitions offered time to set goals, establish connectivity, she did a lot of hands-on task activities to include resume building, mock interviews, and job search projects.

“Jump On Board is an excellent example of how our Rapid Shelter program is seeking to address the root causes of homelessness. By continuing to coordinate and align the many services available in our city, I am confident we will continue to hear more success stories among our unsheltered population,” City of Columbia At-Large Councilwoman Aditi Bussells said.

“I am extremely proud of these individuals this is just one of many goals they will accomplish while at RSC. I also, would like to thank Transitions for their partnership, Lakelyn for her dedication, and RSC staff for supporting the residents in every aspect to ensure their equipped to be successful,” City of Columbia Director of Homeless Services Kameisha Heppard said.

9 residents started the program on July 18th, 2 gained employment, and 7 were present for graduation.
