City of Columbia to Reveal 35 Trout Sculptures Painted By Local Artists, and Announce Upcoming Columbia Streams Art Live Auction Event

Following two weeks of public viewing in the Salon Gallery, 35 leaping trout sculptures will be sold during a live auction event held at the Museum of Art on May 15.

The City of Columbia will hold a press conference on Monday, May 6 at 10:30 am to reveal 35 painted leaping trout sculptures, and announce the upcoming live auction event. The press conference will take place in the Columbia Museum of Art’s Salon Gallery, where all 35 of the trout sculptures are on display, and participating artists will attend.

The auction event will take place on May 15 in The Loft event space and will begin at 5:30 pm. The event will be open to the public and guests can expect food, beverages, music, and a live auction experience.

Columbia Streams Art is a multi-faceted arts program that engages Columbia’s creative community through highly visible public art projects. Proceeds from the auction of the trout sculptures will fund further public art programs in Columbia.
