Who: City of Columbia Forestry and Beautification Division
What: The City of Columbia Forestry and Beautification Division will hold its annual presentation and tree planting in celebration of Arbor Day.
Along with National Arbor Day, each state has an Arbor Day that coincides with their premier planting time for trees. South Carolina celebrates Arbor Day on the first Friday of December each year. Each year as a part of Columbia’s Tree City USA requirement, the City of Columbia’s Forestry & Beautification Division partners with a local elementary school to celebrate Arbor Day.
There will be an hour long presentation put on by TreeCircus to students highlighting the importance of trees and raise awareness of the value of community trees. Following the presentation students and city crews will plant two Tulip Poplar trees on campus. Columbia has been the longest running Tree City USA in South Carolina, celebrating 46 years.
When: TOMORROW, Friday, December 5, 2025 at 8:30 a.m.
Where: Rosewood Elementary School, 3300 Rosewood Drive, Columbia, SC 29205
