On Monday, January 15, 2024 the city held its 36th Annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Celebration. The annual celebration began at 4 p.m. at the Martin Luther King, Jr. Park, 2300 Greene Street.
This community event featured musical selections, a keynote presentation by Dr. Bobby J. Donaldson, and a special acknowledgment of the sponsors and winners of the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Dream Keeper Scholarship and Honor the Dream Food Drive. Thanks to an increase in sponsorships, ALL students were able to receive awards, which included scholarship winners, runners-up, a certificate and a gift card to Chick-fil-A.
The winners of the Dream Keeper Scholarships are:
