What: A press conference to announce the launch of the 4 Block Promise Initiative. Speakers will include City of Columbia Office of Neighborhood Safety and Engagement Director Dr. Trevon Fordham and faith-based leaders.
The “4 Block” Promise Initiative focuses on increased engagement and community service by involving faith-based partners. Through this initiative, the Office of Neighborhood Safety and Engagement hopes to expand the City’s community footprint by working with faith-based partners to host community events at their place of worship, increase volunteer opportunities, offer safe space sessions, and collaborate to plan other outreach efforts within “4” blocks around each designated place of worship.
