City of Columbia’ Newest Parklet!

By October 20, 2021No Comments

The City of Columbia is celebrating the addition of our newest public parklet, an outdoor space placed in a parking space with public seating for all to use! The addition of this parklet is a continuation of the City’s efforts to enliven public spaces and make them more attractable for residents, businesses, and visitors. The parklet is located on the corner of Main Street and Hampton Street. This parklet is a continuation of the City’s parklet program which seeks to promote high quality pedestrian infrastructure and reimagine Columbia’s public realm.

The project was made possible due to the generous grant from the Knight Foundation. Additional support has been given by One Columbia and City Center Partnership. The art mural was created by local artist Cait Maloney.
