AT&T will perform tree trimming activities along overhead utility lines in the following neighborhoods this week:

University Hills
Shandon
Vista Neighborhood Association
Citizens with specific questions or concerns should contact Forestry and Beautification at 803-545-3860 or AT&T at (803) 343-1694 to meet and discuss in advance the work being completed.
The trimming will be completed by AT&T’s contractors and work will be closely monitored by the City’s Certified Arborists from the Forestry and Beautification Division.
The purpose of the trimming activities is to install new Fiber optic services in existing neighborhoods. The trimming guidelines include removing vegetation within 30 inches around existing or proposed new Fiber Optic.
AT&T and their contractors trim in accordance with International Society of Arboriculture guidelines, using ANSI A300 pruning methods leaving good cuts that will generate new growth.
AT&T’s additional service work is adding new Fiber Optics in select locations. The goal of additional service work is to increase the internet and improve reliability.
