This drop-in format meeting will provide attendees with updates on the project\, including the anticipated timeline\, multimodal design considerations\, environmental impacts\, and more. \nAs the City and consultant team work to fine-tune the design details\, we hope you’ll take the time to attend and provide your feedback. We’ll be working to share additional details and materials as we have them\, but in the meantime\, please stay tuned to the City’s website\, social media\, and e-newsletter for updates. \nAbout the Williams Street Project \nThis new street connection from Blossom Street to Senate Street will also connect back into the City’s street grid\, providing multimodal connections westward past Huger Street. Phase one of the Williams Street Extension project includes the construction of approximately 4\,700 feet of new and improved roadway\, 4\,700 feet of new sidewalks\, and other related infrastructure needed to support the roadway. The project focuses on several key objectives\, including: \n\nExpanding public river access\nSpurring economic development in the area and surrounding communities\nImproving public safety and connectivity to our rivers\, roadways and districts\nEnhancing outdoor recreational opportunities alongside and on the rivers\nStrengthening pride of our City and bolstering our sense of community\n\nThe design of the project is wrapping up\, with anticipated initial review by the City’s Planning Commission in Summer 2025. Once plans are finalized\, the project will be bid\, with construction to follow. \n[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
