DESCRIPTION:National Small Business Week recognizes the contributions of entrepreneurs and small business owners and celebrates their tenacity.  Over the past year\, the City of Columbia has introduced a number of Business Friendly initiatives to streamline operations and encourage economic growth.  This year\, the city will recognize several small business owners.  To kick-off Small Business Week\, Mr. Jonathan Upton\, owner of Craft Axe\, will be the first to be recognized.  The establishment offers a unique experience for a group gathering.  The sport of axe throwing is quickly becoming the preferred choice for any event and celebration. \nWHO: Mayor Daniel Rickenmann\, City Council members\, County Administrator Leonardo Brown\, County Council members\, Carl Blackstone with the Chamber of Commerce and TD Bank Officials \nWHAT: The City of Columbia in partnership with the Richland County\, Columbia Chamber\, and TD Bank is hosting a press conference in addition to a proclamation presentation to kick off Small Business Week 2023 \nWHEN: Monday\, May 1 at 10:00 a.m. \nWHERE: 700 Gervais Street B2\, Columbia\, SC 29201
