City to Recognize National Wear Red Day in the Fight Against Heart Disease
The City of Columbia will recognize National Wear Red Day along with the American Heart Association. Please mark your calendars and plan to wear red on this date, to help show your support to women affected by heart disease, the number one killer of women, and help raise awareness in the community. The City will also focus on taking a virtual approach to this year’s celebration of Go Red Day.
Each person who registers for Go Red Columbia Day will receive a free health screening including: blood pressure, blood sugar and will also receive a free swag bag with items to support and increase awareness about heart disease in the community. The health screenings and distribution of these swag bags will be held on Friday, February 4, 2022 from 10:00 a.m. – 2 p.m. at Charles R Drew Wellness Center, 2101 Walker Solomon Way, Columbia, SC 29204.
