Prior to approval by City Council\, the team is excited to share how the project’s ambitions are now taking shape and to seek your feedback. This will be an opportunity for all to see what the district will look like and all that it will offer once it is fully built out. The team will walk you through an illustrative master plan and a series of preliminary conceptual images of key moments in the Congaree Riverfront District. \nSince the first public engagement session in April\, residents and stakeholders have played an important role in helping guide the vision for the district. Through public meetings\, neighborhood conversations\, stakeholder discussions\, community pop-up events and online surveys\, the design team has gathered feedback on how people envision using and experiencing the riverfront for generations to come. \nThe City of Columbia thanks everyone who has participated in the planning process and encourages the community to attend the upcoming session to see how their ideas and priorities are being reflected in the Draft Master Plan. \nThe future Congaree Riverfront District will create new opportunities for outdoor recreation\, gathering spaces\, walking and biking connections\, and year-round experiences along the Congaree River. The district will also serve as an important gateway to the region’s larger vision of 27 miles of connected greenway along Columbia’s three rivers\, strengthening connections between surrounding neighborhoods\, downtown and the riverfront. \nThe City has engaged Field Operations\, an internationally recognized landscape architecture and urban design firm\, to lead the planning and design process alongside project partners. The effort represents a collaborative approach to creating an inviting riverfront destination that balances recreation\, hospitality\, environmental stewardship\, housing\, accessibility\, tourism and long-term community investment. \nWe welcome everyone out for the Congaree Riverfront District Public Information Session and encourage you to RSVP beforehand\, so we can better prepare for everyone in attendance. Please note that we do not require you to RSVP in order for you to attend. \nFor more information about the Congaree Riverfront District Project and to RSVP for the upcoming Congaree Riverfront District Public Information Session\, visit https://growth.columbiasc.gov/congaree-riverfront-district/.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row type=”in_container” full_screen_row_position=”middle” column_margin=”default” column_direction=”default” column_direction_tablet=”default” column_direction_phone=”default” scene_position=”center” text_color=”dark” text_align=”left” row_border_radius=”none” row_border_radius_applies=”bg” row_position_desktop=”default” row_position_tablet=”inherit” row_position_phone=”inherit” overflow=”visible” overlay_strength=”0.3″ gradient_direction=”left_to_right” shape_divider_position=”bottom” bg_image_animation=”none”][vc_column column_padding=”no-extra-padding” column_padding_tablet=”inherit” column_padding_phone=”inherit” column_padding_position=”all” flex_gap_desktop=”10px” column_element_direction_desktop=”default” column_element_spacing=”default” desktop_text_alignment=”default” tablet_text_alignment=”default” phone_text_alignment=”default” background_color_opacity=”1″ background_hover_color_opacity=”1″ column_backdrop_filter=”none” column_shadow=”none” column_border_radius=”none” column_link_target=”_self” column_position=”default” gradient_direction=”left_to_right” overlay_strength=”0.3″ width=”1/1″ tablet_width_inherit=”default” animation_type=”default” bg_image_animation=”none” border_type=”simple” column_border_width=”none” column_border_style=”solid”][image_with_animation image_url=”785886″ image_size=”full” max_width=”100%” max_width_mobile=”default” animation_type=”entrance” animation=”None” animation_movement_type=”transform_y” hover_animation=”none” alignment=”” border_radius=”none” box_shadow=”none” image_loading=”default”][/vc_column][/vc_row]
