COLUMBIA, S.C. — The City of Columbia Procurement Department is transitioning from the old e-procurement platform, Ion Wave, to a new platform, CobbleStone. After finding out that our current e-procurement platform will no longer be supported, the city has conducted various research, to select a system that aligns with its long term operational efficiency goals while bettering accessibility for the local business community. The new platform is scheduled to go live in October 2026. The new CobbleStone platform allows for a centralized hub meant to streamline the vendor experience through personalized dashboards, simplified paperless proposal submissions, and streamlined credential management.
The Procurement Department is encouraging both current city vendors and prospective business owners interested in contracting with the City to prepare for the October 2026 launch. Existing business partners are invited to set up their free profiles immediately by visiting https://columbiasc.cobblestone.software/gateway/ to ensure access to upcoming bidding opportunities.
For new business owners interested in partnering with the City of Columbia be sure to first secure an active city business license before registering their profiles on the new gateway.
