The City of Columbia Parks & Recreation Department is inviting local organizations, agencies, businesses and service providers that serve children and families to participate in its upcoming Halloween Day Party, scheduled for October 31 from 1–4 p.m. at Dutch Square Mall, 421 Bush River Road.

The free event is designed for children ages 12 and under and will feature an afternoon of games, music, karaoke, costume contests, trivia, treats, prizes and Halloween fun.

Organizations that provide youth programs, educational opportunities, health and wellness services, family resources, enrichment programs, recreational activities and other child or family-focused services are encouraged to participate.

There is no charge to participate. Each participating organization will receive a table and chairs and may distribute information about its programs and services. Organizations are asked to bring individually wrapped candy or treats to distribute to children attending the event.

Participants are welcome to decorate their tables and dress in costume to add to the Halloween atmosphere. Costumes are encouraged but not required. All displays, materials and giveaways should be appropriate for children and families.

The Halloween Day Party provides participating organizations with an opportunity to connect directly with local families, share valuable community resources and help create a fun, safe Halloween experience for children.

Space is limited, and interested organizations are encouraged to register early.
