The Finlay Park fountain will be temporarily turned off beginning Monday, February 9, 2026, as part of a planned and routine preventative maintenance schedule established specifically for the fountain that was determined during the overall master plan of the park. This maintenance is limited to work in the fountain’s upper holding pool and is not related to the fountain structure or operations, or connected to the recent cold weather we experienced in the City of Columbia.
The fountain is expected to be offline for approximately one week, with a target return to operation ahead of Valentine’s Day, Saturday, February 14, 2026.
This scheduled maintenance is part of the City’s proactive approach to park operations and was anticipated as part of normal system upkeep. Periodic preventative maintenance is essential to ensuring Finlay Park continues to provide a safe, reliable, and first-class experience for residents and visitors.
