Candidate Filing Period:
Filing opened today, August 1, 2025 and is open until 12:00 p.m. on August 15, 2025
Filing Form and Fee:
Residents who are qualified electors desiring to be candidates must file a Statement of Intention of Candidacy and pay $1,000.00 for the office of Mayor or $530.00 for the office of City Council as a filing fee. Checks are made payable to “City of Columbia”.

State Ethics Filing:
Candidates must complete a Statement of Intention of Candidacy when filing. Also, a Statement of Economic Interest form and Candidate Campaign Disclosure must be completed online with the State Ethics Commission at http://ethics.sc.gov.
