City of Columbia to Host Annual City Manager’s Go Red Heart Walk

 

Who: City Manager Teresa Wilson, City of Council Councilmembers, City of Columbia staff, and the American Heart Association.

 

What: The City of Columbia would like to invite the community to join City manager Teresa Wilson to this year’s City Manager Heart Walk to the State House to raise awareness for the City’s Go Red Campaign and heart health in our community. The public is asked to wear red for the walk.

 

When: Friday, March 14, 2024 at 10:30 a.m.

 

Where: The public will meet at City Hall, 1737 Main Street, Columbia, SC, 29201

City of Columbia Holds Go Red Columbia Community Press Event

On February 7, 2025, the City of Columbia hosted their annual community photo op to help and support the women affected by heart disease, the number one killer of women. This year’s event was held on National Wear Red Day, Friday, February 7, 2025, in the Council Chambers of City Hall, 1737 Main Street Columbia, SC 29201. The Go Red for Women movement encourages awareness of this issue and action to help save lives. The public was invited and all were encouraged to wear red the day of the event. City of Columbia Hosts Jump Start Your Heart Day Party

On February 8, 2025, the City of Columbia hosted their annual Jump Start Your Heart Day Party at the Charles Drew Wellness Center at 2101 Walker Solomon Way, Columbia, SC 29204. February is National Heart Month, so the Jump Start Your Heart Day Party is held in conjunction with the Go Red movement to encourages awareness of heart disease and heart health, specifically in women. The public was invited to come to this family friendly event to learn more about their heart health, and discover lifestyle changes to help keep a healthy heart. Activities at the event included Yoga classes, Zumba classes, HIIT workouts, Pvolve Workouts, and more. There were also free health screenings and massages available throughout the event.
