The City of Columbia announces plans for parking and road closures ahead of the 25th Annual King Day at the Dome, a tribute to Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. that is taking place on Monday, January 20, at 10:00 a.m. at the State House.
Road Closures
Please review the following road closure information beginning at 6:30 a.m. on Monday, January 20:
Road closures from 6:30 a.m. until approximately 2:00 p.m. – Gervais St. between Assembly St. and Sumter St.
Main St. between Gervais St. and Washington St.
Road closure from 7:00 a.m. until approximately 10:30 a.m. – Washington St. and Gadsden St. around Zion Baptist Church
Road closures from 8:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. during the march – Assembly St. between Gervais St. and Taylor St.
Washington St. from Gadsden St. to Sumter St.

Parking Meters Bagged
No parking from 6:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. at the following metered locations. Please note that towing will be enforced during this time period.
- Both sides of 800, 900, 1000, 1100, and 1200 Washington St.
- Both sides of 1100 and 1200 Lady St.
- Both sides of 1200, 1300 and 1400 Main St.
- 1100 Gervais St.
- Both sides of 1000, 1100 and 1200 Sumter St.
- Both sides of 1300 Senate St. (island included)
- East side and east side island of 1100 Assembly St.
- West side of 1200 and 1300 Bull St.
