(Columbia, SC) – Councilwoman Tina Herbert, in partnership with the Cola Town Bike Collective, invites the community to join a family-friendly bike parade celebrating the completion of the River Drive Buffered Bike Lane. The event will take place on Sunday, December 8, 2024 at 1:00 p.m., starting from the Earlewood Park baseball fields located on the corner of Earlewood Drive and Recreation Drive.
This short, three-mile ride is open to all ages and abilities and mostly on flat terrain, making it a perfect event for families and individuals looking to experience a new part of Columbia’s improved bike infrastructure. Participants will gather at Earlewood Park before setting off to explore the newly completed bike lane & the neighborhood.
For those who wish to arrive early, a group ride will depart from the Cola Town Bike Collective at 12:30 p.m. After the parade, attendees are encouraged to gather for coffee and conversation at Indah Coffee to celebrate this milestone for the community.
