The City of Columbia’s Office of Business Opportunities will be hosting the ribbon cutting for Rob Shaw Framing and Gallery on Thursday, April 11 at 3:00 PM.
After twenty years working in the framing industry, Columbia artist Rob Shaw opened Rob Shaw Framing and Gallery in 2019. Originally located in West Columbia, the store recently moved to 2123 Park Street in the Elmwood neighborhood. In addition to offering custom framing, Shaw sells original artwork—both his own and that of artists from around the state. As he has for the past five years, he will continue to host art receptions and offer palette knife painting classes in his new space.
When asked why he started his business, Shaw notes that framing, displaying, selling, and teaching art are all creative endeavors that allow him to meet interesting people, to experience a wide variety of art, and to have a venue for showcasing and selling his own work and that of other talented South Carolina artists.
