Groundbreaking Ceremony in Honor of Joe Azar

The family of Joseph Azar will be hosting a groundbreaking ceremony at 1324 Richland Street on Friday, September 15th at 10AM to commemorate construction of new house and community garden/park in honor of the late Joe Azar. The house is a historical recreation of the original family house that once resided on the property, located in the Robert Mills Historic District. Joe inherited the property from his mother, Evelyn Azar, when she passed in 2009 and honors his long standing wish to build a park there. A small garden area will be included under the front tree, dedicated to the Azar Legal Justice Foundation and its two beneficiaries, Trinity Episcopal Cathedral and the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church.
