COLUMBIA MUSEUM OF ART COMMISSION (CMA)
Seeking to fill one (1) vacancy.
The Columbia Museum of Art Commission manages the investments and the maintenance, preservation and exhibition of its art collection. Applicant must reside within the city limits. Term – 5 years.
COLUMBIA TREE AND APPEARANCE COMMISSION (CTAC)
Seeking to fill one (1) vacancy for a Realtor/Developer.
The purpose of the Columbia Tree & Appearance Commission is to protect, enhance and promote the City of Columbia’s natural resources and visual beauty. The purpose of the commission is to oversee the development and implementation of the beautification plan. – Term- (3) years.
COMMERCIAL REVOLVING LOAN FUND (CRLF)
Seeking to fill two (2) vacancies: one (1) for an Attorney & one (1) Small Business Owner.
The City of Columbia is accepting applications for the Commercial Revolving Loan Review Board. Individuals applying for this board must be a Small business owner or an Attorney. The purpose of this committee is to review and approve/disapprove applications for loans from the City of Columbia Commercial Revolving Loan Fund. – Term- 2 years
DESIGN DEVELOPMENT REVIEW COMMISSION
Seeking to fill three (3) vacancies- one (1) Community Representative; one (1) individual with demonstrated preservation experience or an architectural historian; one (1) Architect.
The purpose of the Design/Development Review Commission (DDRC) is to review and approve work proposed within the City’s historic districts, urban design areas, and upon designated landmarks. Term – 3 years
MIDLANDS AUTHORITY FOR CONVENTIONS, SPORTS, AND TOURISM
Seeking to fill one (1) appointment.
The purpose of this commission is to plan, establish, equip, staff, operate, regulate, and protect public recreation and zoo facilities within the territory in the counties of Richland and Lexington contiguous to the Saluda River and the Congaree River from Highway I-26 on the north to the Granby Locks on the south; to sue and be sued in its own name; to make bylaws for the management and regulations of its affairs; to acquire real and personal property by gift, deed, easement, lease or otherwise; to mortgage, pledge, license, or lease its real personal property; to receive funds by loan, grant, donation, and appropriations and to make application therefore; and to establish and collect reasonable charges for the use, lease, or license of its facilities. The commission is responsible for the overall operation and maintenance of Riverbanks Zoo. Term – 6 years
PARKS AND RECREATION FOUNDATION
Seeking to fill three (3) vacancies.
The purpose of this foundation is to promote programs for the Parks and Recreation Department related to enhancing and expanding the scope of the educational and human development activities. Term- 3 years
PLANNING COMMISSION
Seeking to fill one (1) vacancy.
The purpose of this commission is to develop and maintain a continuing planning program which will benefit City of Columbia residents; to provide a mutual forum to identify, discuss, study and address local development issues and opportunities; to foster, develop and review policies, plans and priorities in order to ensure orderly growth, development, conservation and preservation; to furnish technical assistance to city government and its agents; and to review and coordinate federal, state and local programs that have an impact on the city.
