The City of Columbia activated their IVR (Interactive Voice Recognition) system on July 23, 2007. Using this phone system, customers can make payments to their water, solid waste and parking rental bills with their credit card.
The following credit cards are accepted: Visa, MasterCard and Discover. To access the IVR system, please call 1-866-9H2OPAY (1-866-942-6729). You will need to have your credit card number available as well as your City of Columbia customer account number. A two-day processing time applies to all payments made using the IVR system. This service is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
There is a convenience fee of $4.00 charged for this service. The City of Columbia does not collect or receive this convenience fee. It is charged and retained by the third-party processor of the credit card payments.
Since activation of the IVR system, customers can no longer call in directly to the City of Columbia offices to make a credit card payment. All phone-in payments will be directed or transferred to the IVR system.
