What: The Community Development Department will be celebrating Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) 50th anniversary! The Community Development Block Grant Program provides annual funding and flexibility to local communities to provide decent, safe and sanitary housing, a suitable living environment and economic opportunities along with the HOME Program that provides funding to local communities to create decent, safe, affordable housing opportunities for low-income persons. During this program Keynote Speakers, Congressman James Clyburn, Demetria McCain – Principle Deputy Asst. Secretary for HUD and former Mayor of Columbia, Bob Coble, will speak on the CDBG program and its importance.
When: Thursday, April 4, 2024, with the reception beginning at 5:30 PM and the program at 6:00 PM.
